The five layers, in plain language
Everything you saw in the live demo — Interface, Execution, Intelligence, Truth and Governance — answered layer by layer: what each one does, why it exists and where it showed up in the walkthrough.

Layer 01
The Interface layer
Where people work with the system.
- What is the Interface layer?
- It is every screen, inbox, dashboard and touchpoint your team actually uses — the Command Center, request forms, review queues and reports. It is how people ask the system for things and how the system presents answers back.
- Why is the interface a separate layer at all?
- Because the interface is a window onto the system, not a place where private copies of data are made. When the interface is its own layer, every view reads from the same governed record instead of spawning spreadsheets and screenshots that drift out of date.
- In the demo, what am I looking at when a scenario starts?
- A sample request arriving through the Interface layer — the same way a real inbound request would land in your Command Center. The sample data is illustrative; in a live deployment that request would be tied to your actual records.
Layer 02
The Execution layer
Where work actually moves.
- What is the Execution layer?
- It is the workflows: the defined steps a request moves through, each with an owner, a gate and a record. Intake, routing, approvals, task handoffs and follow-ups all live here.
- What does the Execution layer guarantee that a chat tool cannot?
- That if a step matters, it has an owner, a gate and a record — every time. Work cannot silently stall or skip a review because the workflow, not someone's memory, carries it forward.
- Are the demo's steps the same steps my business would get?
- The structure is the same; the steps are configured to your operating model during implementation. The demo uses sample scenarios so you can see the shape of the flow before anything is built.
Layer 03
The Intelligence layer
Where AI agents do bounded work.
- What is the Intelligence layer?
- It is where governed AI agents work: drafting correspondence, summarizing documents, monitoring pipelines and preparing analysis. Each agent has a defined role, permitted sources and explicit limits.
- Do the agents act on their own?
- Agents propose; people decide. Every agent output is attributed, reviewable and reversible, and anything consequential passes a human checkpoint before it takes effect.
- Why do the demo responses look measured instead of flashy?
- Because the agents are configured to work from defined sources and say plainly when something is outside their scope. In a real deployment that discipline is what keeps outputs trustworthy; the demo shows the same behavior on sample data.
Layer 04
The Truth layer
One authoritative record underneath everything.
- What is the Truth layer?
- It is the governed source of truth: the authoritative records, documents and business definitions every other layer reads from. When two numbers disagree, the Truth layer decides which one counts.
- Why does AEGIS OS™ insist on this layer before the AI work?
- No model output is better than the record it works from. Without a defined source of truth, agents amplify inconsistencies; with one, every answer traces back to a record you control.
- Where is the Truth layer in the demo?
- The demo's sample scenarios stand in for it. In a live deployment, the same screens and agent answers would read from your real records, defined during the Establish Truth stage of implementation.
Layer 05
The Governance layer
Scope, authority and accountability for the whole system.
- What is the Governance layer?
- It is the layer that wraps everything else: who can see what, which actions need approval, what gets logged and how the system is reviewed over time. Every workflow and intelligence role has a scope, an owner and a review path — no exceptions.
- Is governance a one-time setup or an ongoing practice?
- Ongoing. Deployment includes access control and an operating cadence, and the layer keeps working after go-live: audit trails, review checkpoints and an improvement backlog as conditions change.
- Can I see governance in the demo?
- Yes — the human checkpoints in each scenario are the Governance layer made visible. Each consequential step pauses for a person, exactly as a configured deployment would.
